This fantastic photo was very kindly submitted by Gilbert Kerrigan. The photo shows his father Joe driving his Irish built, Cork registered Oval Window Beetle.
Joe Kerrigan was known for his hang gliding exploits in the Cork Gliding Club and the parachute club. On June 1977 Joe flew his hang glider from the top of Carrauntoohill. He lived an action packed life for sure. He died in 2008 aged 96 years young.
