Thanks to Roger O’Sullivan for adding this Type 4 to the Beetle.ie Census. This 412 was one he photographed a long time ago in Cork and as you can see from the photo, the future wasn’t looking too rosey for RZT 448. In fact, its past life did look to have been too rosey either!”
Sold new by late great Paddy O’Callaghan in O’Callaghan’s of Kanturk back in February 1973, this flagship model was the top of the range then but sadly they were a little too far advanced for their time and people just didn’t get them.
It’s hard to tell from the photo but it looks like the 412 could be finished in Marathon Blue Metallic (L96M) but it’s only a guess as the photo isn’t too clear. Nice to see a Type 4 on the list so thanks for submitting this photo Roger.
