Model information

1200 Beetle Deluxe

Info

Following on from our last 1967 Beetle, TNI 859, we thought it appropriate to bring you Tommy Walsh’s 1967 Beetle.

This, like TNI 859, has been on the show scene for quite a few years so it’s great to see old VWs survive the decades and remain in the ownership of enthusiasts who love these cars but also recognise their rarity and the importance of preservation.

Originally assembled by MDL on the Naas road in Dublin at the start if February 1967, this black 1200 Beetle Deluxe was delivered to  T.P O’Connell’s in Bundoran, County Donegal to be sold. The first owner registered their new Beetle on February 14th 1967 and drove off the forecourt as proud as can be but little did they know that over half a century later, that same engine would still be powering their Beetle along the Irish roads.

Tommy’s plans are to enjoy IIH 111 just as it is for now and that’s all it needs as the previous careful owners have done a superb job maintaining it.
