Thanks to Roger O’Sullivan for submitting this Beetle to the Beetle.ie Census. I have seen photos of it surface from time to time as it hit the market more than once in the last few years but this is the first time we have had any background information on it.
“This Beetle was bought new as one of the last available Beetles in 1977 by the late Mr. James O Brien, a farmer in Farran, Co Cork. The Beetle was fitted with a tow bar for going to the mart on a weekly basis. This Beetle was James’ daily driver car until his death in 1988. The Beetle was later sold and then reappeared on an online sales website when it was for sale in Dublin back in 2022. I don’t know where it went after that.”
Thanks again Roger. It’s always good to get some background on any old Volkswagen and as it was only sold in 2022, it must still be around so hopefully we’ll be able to update the listing for this Dakota Beige (L13A) Beetle.
