We found this County Kerry registered, resting in the mountains in Allihies, Beara Peninsula in County Cork in 1996 I think. Myself and my friends were having a day out on the mountains in Ahillies when we stumbled across this sad looking Beetle. No doubt a work horse in rural Ireland, probably a 1974 Beetle.
Beetle.ie: Thanks Roger for submitting this really cool old photo of an even older Beetle. You’re spot on about it being a 1974 Beetle. From our records we know that this Beetle was assembled in Dublin in August 1974 and finished in Senegal Red (L31A). The dealer it was sold from was Chris O’Mahony in Cork. It was first registered November 13th 1974 in County Kerry.
