These photos date back to 2008 and show this 1977 Manila Green 1200 Beetle in good original condition. It still retained the original dealer sticker from Dillon’s Garage in Clonmel; A Dillon & Sons Ltd.
The next time it was seen this Beetle was for sale on DoneDeal, looking slightly different as it had received a new coat of paint but this time white covered the original Manila Green colour.
UPDATE 06/03/2023: Brian Keogh is the current owner of 985 BHI and he has been in touch to show us what this 1977 Beetle looks like now. As you can see, it has changed its look quite dramatically. Gone is the Manila Green paint, to be replaced by a fresh coat of white with some Herbie stripes to personalise this Beetle. Brian says the Beetle sees regular use now and always draws attention wherever it goes. Thanks for the update Brian and we look forward to seeing you and Herbie on the road in the not so distant future. We’re loving the wider than stock chrome rims which really give a nice look to this restored Beetle.
