1200 Beetle Deluxe

This Beetle has changed quite a bit since it rolled off the production line in early 1974. It then went to Grange Motors in Dublin and the Gentian Blue (L51B) was sold from. It was registered in March 1974.
The most obvious change is the colour as it is a custom paint job. The engine lid has been changed for an early 1960s engine lid and the owner changed the wings for an earlier set. The original 1300cc engine has been junked in favour of a 1200c motor. The suspension has been lowered and the wheels have been banded. It’s a cool looking car and attracted a lot of attention at the Terenure Show which is where we took these photos.
