Info
Thanks to Aidan for sending in these photos of a very rare Irish registered 412 Variant. The 412 was for sale in Midleton back in 2016 for what looked like a very reasonable €1,500. It was a barn find but it was running and more importantly it was complete. The gutters were the only area of concern which may have proved tricky for the new owner but other than that, this was a really sound looking 412, and that’s not something you get to say all the time when talking about Type 4s!
According to all Type 4 brochures, African Red (L31A) is the colour offered for the 1974 model year which is actually the same colour and code as Senegal Red.
We haven’t seen this Cork registered Type 4 at any shows or on the roads of Ireland so perhaps it is still in a workshop being restored. Best of luck to the new owner and we look forward to seeing 4192 IF out and about very soon.
