Before the days of camera phones this Beetle was photographed when it was parked on Henry Street in Limerick city back in November of 1989. The 1975 County Clare registered Beetle had seen some work over the years, with the most obvious being the changing of the rear wings to pre-74 wings & lights. The ‘I Love Q’ rear window sticker related to competition that Quinnsworth supermarkets were running at the time. The car owners, having stuck the sticker to the rear window would listen to the radio to see if their car registration was called out and if it was then they won a prize. Simpler times!
The Beetle itself was a 1200 Beetle Deluxe finished in Senegal Red (L31A).
