Info

We love to mark little milestones when it comes to entries on this census of VWs in Ireland so as we were getting closer to number 600 we were wondering what would fit the bill and then Barry sends in these photos and information on his awesome Beetle.

Barry picked up this all original paint 1970 Beetle in San Francisco a few years ago and imported it into the UK. Just recently he took it back to Ireland with him when he moved home and we’re glad he did but not only is this a rare steel sliding sunroof model, it has all of the original panels, it’s never even had a small car park bump but most of all it has a fire breathing 2276cc EFI motor out the back! This GTi muncher is the perfect sleeper and I’m sure has already caught a few boy racers off guard. If you get to see Barry’s Bug in the metal, take some time to see just how clean and rust free it is, and I mean even under the wings. It’s the closest thing you’ll get to a brand new 1970 Beetle because the paint under the wings shines like nothing we’ve ever seen before. It’s a credit to the previous owner but also to Barry and his pursuit of perfection in the paint finish.

Thanks for sharing your Bug with us Barry and for making another milestone even more special.
