John Filby was hot on the camera lens at the 2022 Kilkenny Show. This was one of the Beetles that he captured that day and it really jumped out at us. The Iberian Red (L31F) paint and the few choice accessories really made this Beetle come alive for us. We’re not 100% sure on the paint colour so if you know this Beetle you might let us know.
The detailed Marathon wheels are rarely seen on VWs these days as the centre caps have been lost or damaged over the years and as a result, people discarded the entire rim but when done right, they can look impressive, as they do on this Beetle. Look closely and you’ll see the painted silver wheel with painted black centre, the rare chrome centre caps and the wheel nut covers, all combining to make this genuine VW accessory a wheel to consider for your next restoration project or even as an upgrade to your current Volkswagen. When, like the owner of this convertible did, you add in some other period accessories like the petrol door flap trim, bumper overriders, rear gravel guards, VW logo mudflaps and Kamei engine lid vent cover, it’s just enough to give this Beetle a unique and desirable look.
