“Hi. My Grandfather bought his Beetle as a one year old car from Brady’s of Arva in 1974. Although the body was a bit battered and bruised, the engine was very reliable and he drove the car until 1991. It was mainly used for short hops, but my Grandparents made annual journeys from Dublin to Cork, Leitrim, Donegal and New Ross. From memory, the car was sold to the Old Volks Home around 1995 and I believe that the subsequent owner was from Kerry. It’s probably gone to the great Beetle graveyard in the sky, but if anybody knows of its current whereabouts, I’d love to hear from them.”
