Info

John Filby was busy snapping classic aircooled Volkswagens at the 2022 Kilkenny Show which was run by the Kilkenny Motor Club.

This 1977 Roscommon registered Beetle looked amazing in its metallic red colour. It’s a non VW hue but it suits the shape of the Bug perfectly. The car itself is a 1200N Base Model Beetle but it has some extras that it wouldn’t have had when it drove out the gates of MDL’s Naas Road facility, extras such as pop out side windows, chrome bumpers and chrome hubcaps, passenger mirror, bonnet vent trim, front and rear stone guards, window rubber trim and an aerial for the dash mounted radio.

This is a beautifully restored Beetle with an amazing colour choice. We have seen a number of photos of TDI 162 and the colour looks different in every photos depending on the light which always makes us look twice!
