Oval Window Beetle Deluxe

Eanna O’Bhroin sent us these photos of his dad’s first Beetle, a 1953 Oval Window.
Eanna says it was a Leitrim reg (IT 2989) and was bought by his father in 1962 from Westward Garage in Strokestown.
He remembers it had Heart taillights, accessory chrome headlight eyebrows and a chrome jet airliner in centre of the bonnet on the chrome strip. Eanna thinks it was originally owned by a doctor in Mohill, County Leitrim.
The main photo shows Eanna’s dad and the second photo shows Eanna and his mam back in 1965 in Ruskey, County Roscommon.
