Type 2 Split Window Pick-Up

Darren O’Rourke was contacted by a lady who said they had an old service booklet for their father’s old Pickup and he could have it if he wanted it. Needless to say, Darren was delighted to give it a home and to add it, and the information it contained, to his own files and also to our census on VW in Ireland. Darren notes that “A lovely lady called Rosa Hicks gave me this Service Booklet with Grange Motors stamps for BZI 328, a 1966 Pick Up”.
We know from our own files that BZI 328 was assembled in Dublin in the summer of 1966. It was painted Java Green (L518) and fitted with a 1500cc engine. Once it passed inspection, this Split Window Pick-Up was sent to Grange Motors in Deansgrange, County Dublin to be sold in July 1966, receiving its PDI (pre delivery inspection) on July 28th.
