This model of Volkswagen is probably on the wishlist of many a VW enthusiast, a Volkswagen Notchback. This rare 1965 1500cc Notchback was based for many years in Dundrum but later disappeared from the house.
The photo taken in the driveway was taken by myself (Cathal) in the homeowner’s driveway in Dundrum, probably c1990 while the second photo was taken by Darren O’Rourke from the Original Irish Aircooled VW facebook page. Darren took that photo in a garage beside the dump in Fassaroe, near Bray in County Wicklow in the mid 1990s. Darren recalls that it was the last time he saw this Notchback in the metal but did see it for sale online a number of years later when it was painted blue.
