8178 YI was owned for nearly 40 years by the same man. It transported his family on day trips to the beach, on family holidays and was his daily driver to and from work for all of this time. Sadly, after a visit to a main dealer the car was taken in on a scrappage deal against a new Polo. As this wasn’t an official government run scrappage scheme we really do hope that this lovely Beetle was saved by someone in the garage and still survives today.
