Info

Meet Patch! A 1970 Type 2, Early Bay Window (and a friend at this stage 😆)Patch was registered in February 1970 in Bristol, England but now calls Waterford home!

When I went to check out this Bus not so long ago I was greeted by 4 flat tyres an engine that wasn’t turned over in years and the sliding door on the ground beside it, and half the outdoors, indoors! And that’s not even getting me started on the electrics 😅

Anyway moving on I got him back home and began a 9 month restoration to get the Bus back into a driving and a living condition. Many ups and downs later (mainly downs) I finally completed the work and decided (as I love to travel) to bring him on his maiden voyage across Europe!

2 months later, I set off on a 3 week trip starting off in France, then Belgium, Holland, Germany, Luxembourg, then near the Swiss border before heading back to the ferry port and 3,000 miles later, not a single breakdown!

Since then I have been all over Scotland, most of Ireland and plan for many many more trips in the coming years.

My goal when restoring this Bus was not to bring it back to showroom quality but to travel and see the world in it so it was rebuilt for that purpose!

Thanks for looking, don’t forget if you see me out and about to give me a wave! 😎
