Model information

Karmann Beetle Cabriolet

Info

This Poppy Red (L54) RHD Karmann Cabriolet is a rare 12v torsion bar model. It was built in the period between the 6v era ended and the strut-suspension 1302 Cabriolet was introduced. Obviously after the 1302 came the 1303 until the end of Cabriolet production, VW never went back to a torsion bar Cabriolet after the 1970 model year.

The car itself was spotted at an open day hosted by Pat Bolger in Waterford in 2008. It has some nice period accessories in the bumper over-riders and the beauty rings on the wheels as well as gravel guards on the wings.
