Info

I bought this bus 10 years ago in the summer of 2008. Due to the supply and condition of buses in the US I decided to purchase in Calfornia. The bus was listed on the Samba, the previous owner had owned it for 12 years and the owner before him for about 15 – 20 years.

It was built in March 1966 and shipped to San Francisco later the same month where it spent the next 42 years.

The camper conversion is by EZ Camper which I believe was completed within one year of the bus landing in the US if not immediately on arrival.

The bus retains the original interior though the seats have been recovered. It has been repainted at some point but is 100% solid with no welding carried out.

The engine is a 1776 with twin Dell’Ortos and has proved very reliable.

The original colour is L87 Pearl White, I had below the belt line sprayed in Neptune blue in 2008 shortly after buying it. If its to get a paint job in the future I will go back to Pearl White.

Other plans include installing the vinyl floor tiles purchased at Volksworld Show 2010 (I know) and keep on top of any mechanical and electrical gremlins. Other than that, I plan to continue enjoying the bus attending shows and days out with the family.
