Info

These photographs were taken at the Brekkie Roll in Portlaoise on February 25th 2012. The Brekkie Rolls were run at the time in various locations around Ireland to allow Eircooled club members, who were spread around the country, to be able to get together and talk VWs. The Brekkie Rolls had faded away over the years but have made a comeback at The Cottage in Loughmore, County Tipperary in February over the last few years, but having had a forced break due to the global lockdown it thankfully made a comeback in February 2022. I believe the Brekkie Roll is back on again on Saturday February 4th 2023 – Just to note that as I write this (September 2nd 2022), the date for the Brekkie Roll has not been confirmed so don’t blame us if you rock up and it’s not happening 🙂

This particular Beetle is very well cared for by its owner and is a 1200 Beetle Deluxe model. It was Irish assembled, on the Naas Road in Dublin, in July 1977. On August 5th 1977 this Beetle was collected at MDL and brought to Western Garages in Ennis, County Clare where it went through its PDI and then cleaned and prepared for sale. Just over a month later, on September 14th, this Beetle was sold to its new owner.

Originally this Beetle left the assembly line as a Panama Brown (L12A) Beetle but it now looks like it has been painted Miami Blue (L51C). Miami Blue or not, this is an immaculate looking Beetle and a credit to its owner. Happy Motoring!
