Dave Curran saw this dejected and unloved Beetle back in 2003 in his home county of Kerry.
This particular 1200 Beetle Deluxe model was assembled in Ireland, on the Naas Road to be exact and it was finished in Texas Yellow (L10B). The IU registration means this Beetle was registered in Limerick County, in the latter part of 1973. Being a late 1973 build, it would have been the last of the Tombstone rear light models which were introduced in late 1973 for the 1974 model year.
