This rather down on its luck Beetle was photographed by Eircooled member Kevin Reade a number of years ago. We can only assume it didn’t last much longer where it was sitting because according to Kevin it was very rusty at that time.
This 1200 Deluxe Beetle was built in Dublin as a CKD unit, finished in Ocean Blue (L57H) and was then sent to O’Connor’s VW dealership in Tipperary Town. O’Connor’s sold this Beetle in June 1977 to its first owner who was based in County Limerick hence the IU registration.
