Model information

1200 Beetle Deluxe

Info

14-06-2019: We spotted this Laois registered 1200 Beetle at the Stradbally Steam Rally back in 2013. It was looking really fresh and is obviously its owner’s pride & joy.

Registered in April 1976 it left the Naas Road factory in Senegal Red and came with a padded dashboard and more supportive seats as standard. The bumper rub strips and wheel rim trims are a nice touch.

UPDATE 16-05-2020: We have done some research and we have found out that this 1200 Beetle Deluxe was sent from the MDL production plant on the Naas Road in Dublin to Cunningham’s of Portlaoise, the main Volkswagen dealer in County Laois. It was from Cunningham’s that this Beetle was sold to its first owner in Laois. It is still happily motoring along on its original (and reliable) 1200cc engine.
