“HYI 816. It was my grandmothers Beetle. Presumed to be either a late 1950s or early 1960s model. Last know location is Athenry, Co. Galway. If anyone has any information about this car I would love to know. Thanks, Aaron.”
Thanks for submitting this very personal old family photo Aaron. We would love to think that you could find this Beetle again, and you never know, we have had some great success stories in the past and yours could be the next! Your grandmother’s Beetle was assembled in Dublin in May 1958 and was then registered in Dublin in June 1958 which was the first year of the larger rear window after the Oval so it must have seemed very modern at the time. We wish you luck in finding it or at least finding out some information about what happened to it.
