Model information
1200 Beetle Deluxe
Info
Barry Warren submitted this 1973 Beetle to the Beetle.ie Census. Barry tells us that despite its rough appearance this Beetle will be restored, well, the chassis will as the body is too far gone to restore.
The chassis is in original condition and still holds the original engine. Once a replacement body has been sourced it’ll be full steam ahead for this Beetle.
From what we can find out, this Beetle was assembled in Dublin as a 1200 Beetle Deluxe in May 1973. It left MDL on the Naas Road and was delivered to Chris O’Mahony’s in Cork on May 15th but oddly the Kansas Beige (L91D) Beetle was then sold to a Dublin owner hence the ZI registration.
