“Blue Thunder”
Over the years, many hundreds of humble Beetles have been used as the blank canvas for their owner to express their creativity and to customise their car in a way that they wish. The owner of WZM 368, photographed here at the Durrow Vintage Show in 2008, chose to make a few additions to the basic-spec of his Beetle, namely a Porsche-style “duck-tail” spoiler, EMPI 8-spoke alloy wheels, a roof rack along with window tints, chrome trims and smoked tail lamps.
WZM 368 was sold through Rooney’s Dealership in Tuam, hitting the road at the end of February 1976. It was originally a Havana Brown 1200L Deluxe model.
