“I recently acquired this very original 67 1500 Beetle having known the car for in excess of thirty six years. Originally registered in the United Kingdom as DFP 826E on 2nd December 1967 being exported to Ireland in 1970 and re-registered as TNI 859.
Since import to Ireland, the Beetle has resided in the same town of Greystones, Co, Wicklow with the former owner keeping it from May 1988 to the present day. It is understood the car was a gift for his son on the occasion of his 18th birthday.
The original VW service record indicates that the car has been studiously maintained throughout its life and the condition is a testament to its former keepers. I recently had the opportunity to drive down to Kinsale from Greystones for a vintage car rally in May 2024 where it performed faultlessly being much admired and winning the club trophy.”

I first saw this Beetle at the Kilcommon Show in 1991 and it looked amazing then. It had a Kadron exhaust but was stock other than that. A 1967 Beetle is a highly regarded Beetle within the VW scene and a 1500cc engined version is the pinnacle in many people’s eyes but one that has been minded so well while in such long term ownership surely has to make this one of the rarest 1967 Beetles in the country. The VW Blue (L633) certainly adds to its appeal to as it makes the chrome pop when it’s as polished as TNI 859 is.
