This poor old Single Cab Pick-up looks a little rougher than it did when it left Dillon’s VW Dealer in Clonmel back in March or April 1968.
The photos were taken within the last two years when it was offered for sale. The price was €600 which seemed reasonable but when you look at the cost and more importantly, the availability of replacement parts for Pick-ups it could easily become a very expensive restoration. Still, it would be really nice to see this one saved.
If you look at the windscreen, there is a really cool tax disc holder from Dillon’s VW Garage in Clonmel holding the last tax disc in place, which incidentally ran out in March 1987. If it was sitting out since 1987 then it’s fair to say the bottom of the Single Cab could be quite rusty.
