Cork based Volkswagen enthusiast Wayne McCarthy was passing the Charleville Park Hotel in September 2022 when he spotted this Beetle in the car park. Any old car is a rare sight in the wild these days so Wayne swung around and took out his camera to capture the Bug before it disappeared.
This 1300 Beetle Deluxe was wearing a 1971 County Clare registration and it’s fair to say, judging by its condition in the photos, looks to have emerged from a very nice end restoration. It’s not often you see the limited run 2 vent 1300 engine lid in Ireland as we mainly sold 1200cc powered Beetles.
