Fred Dean is the person to thank for this particular photo. Fred’s name has appeared many times on this census and I’m sure it will appear many more times. Fred is a great car enthusiast as well as an excellent photographer so we are very lucky that Fred sends us Beetles as he finds them at shows. This 1973 Cork registered Beetle was spotted during the summer of 2023 in Cork and looked to be very fresh. It has obviously seen the inside of an enthusiast’s workshop at some time in it (now) 50 year life which is why it has survived so well. NZF 98 features some nice little accessories such as the front mounted AA badge, RAC badge as well as the other motoring related sign (if you know what this one is please tell us!) The Beetle also wears wider 5.5″ rims on the rear which gives it a nice look. The front and rear stone guards are a nice touch also.
