1200 Beetle Deluxe
Info
This photo sums up the fun side to the VW scene as it was in the 1980s and 1990s when, with an abundance of VWs to choose from anyone could create a unique ride. This Baja Bug was photographed on a beach we believe to be in Dublin and it’s the perfect setting for this fun car.
It’s a good looking conversion too by the looks of it with one piece windows, side bars, engine bar, chunky tyres, colour coding and chrome dress up kit in the engine bay, US style yellow plates and a straight looking body.
We know nothing other than what we see. Do you? If so, we’d love to know more about this sweet Baja Bug.
UPDATE 26-03-20: Adding first registration date of November 1972. This Beetle was built as a 1200Beetle Deluxe and was originally finished in Havana Brown (LD8A) It then went straight from the production line to VW Leasing. Why it was registered to Cork is unknown but with this research project we have become used to finding the unexpected.
