Our own Trevor Brady was the man behind the lens for this photo. This Beetle is, or should we say, was, a September 1968 Beetle. The 1200 Beetle Deluxe had been scrapped and this was all that remained of the once black (L41) Beetle.
“A few years back, I got a look around Reid’s Scrapyard in Kildare. At the time the story was that the EPA were insisting he bale up everything that was left. I don’t know what became of the bulk of the stock to be honest but I did hear that at least some were rescued before D-day.”
