Model information

1200 Beetle Deluxe

Info

Its always fun to find a Beetle in the wild so to speak but sadly when that happens in Ireland it usually means rust, and lots of it and that’s exactly what Barry Warren got when he discovered this 1967 Beetle. The Beetle in question had been sitting outside, exposed to the elements in a farmer’s yard for more years than was helpful to the bodywork of this 1200 Beetle Deluxe. In many ways this is the perfect Beetle for so many, being a 1967 model, it’s Black (L41) and it has an original Irish registration, having been assembled in Dublin and sold from Spooner’s VW Dealership in Roscrea so it’s a shame to see it in such a state of disrepair.

Although it looks too far gone, and when it’s opened up a little more it may well be too far gone but everything is restorable depending on your budget, skill level and desire to save it. We hope this Beetle gets to see the inside of a workshop but as Barry is no stranger to Beetles there is a strong chance that when he finishes his current Beetle project he might just take this 1967 Beetle on.
