What a cool registration number to have on your Beetle!
I’m sure this Beetle is long since gone and so is the registration number but still, it’s very cool to see it nonetheless. Wayne McCarthy sent us in this photo recently and it shows a 1965 Irish assembled Beetle in Anthracite Grey (L469) in Limerick. Being a Limerick City registration, the 1200 Beetle Deluxe was more than likely sold from The Service Garage on Mulgrave Street in Limerick but it’s also possible that the owner purchased it from Cunnane’s in Foynes but unlikely as Foynes was at least a 30 minute from the city drive back then.
