We first saw this Beetle when Tsar Sheane’s posted a photo of a Beetle he was doing some welding on back in August 2017. In conversation with Tsar recently I asked what became of that Beetle and I was delighted when Tsar sent me the following photos and update.
The Beetle was owned at the time of the initial photo by John Walsh in Gorey and still is owned by John. John was looking to have his Beetle ready for his wedding in 2018 and thanks to all the work by Tsar, Ivan Tsar and Mills Autobody, John’s Beetle made it to the church on time.
Mills Autobody in Inch, County Wexford did a tremendous job on this Beetle, having unearthed a massive amount of hidden horrors along the way. “Wedding Beetle finished and made it to the church. It’s come a long way from what it looked like when it first rolled into the bodyshop. The things we found in this car, expanding foam in the heater channels, quality street tin glued into the front panel and a length of 2 by 1 in the inside of the quarter….”
This Beetle has had a major transformation from the wreck it was. It’s great to see projects being restored and staying with their owners who clearly love their Bug. Well done Mr & Mrs Walsh!
