It’s not too often that we see a Split Window Beetle at a VW show in Ireland so it was a real treat to see this Split Beetle roll into the Eirespares Show back in 2009.
This late 51/early ’52 Split Beetle features the very unique and somewhat quirky ‘Crotch Cooler’ vents in the front quarter panels. On a hot day just open the vents and let the fresh air in! Genius invention!
Our cooled crotch driver wasn’t afraid to drive the Splittie as it went on the Saturday night cruise stopping off at Ardpatrick where some of these photos were taken.
