I love this one. It came from Darren O’Rourke of the Original Irish Aircooled VW Facebook group and it shows what can only be described as a new or nearly new Beetle. It looks too clean to have been on 1960’s Irish roads for too long. The Beetle is a 1200 Beetle Deluxe mode that would have been assembled in CKD form in MDL’s factory on the Naas Road in Dublin. The Anthracite Grey (L469) Beetle was sent to County Kerry and its new owner registered it in May 1963. The Beetle was also fitted with a radio which of course, Irish Beetles did not come with as standard.
