It’s not every day that we receive photos of Volkswagens from the 1950s but to receive photos of commercial VWs from that period is very difficult and really doesn’t happen that often at all. What Kieran Walsh sent us is just fantastic, especially as there is a family story behind this 1957 Split Screen Pickup. We’ll let Kieran fill you in.
“This is a photo of my dad and uncle in front of their Volkswagen Pickup. This photo was taken in the late 1950s. As far as I know BIP was bought new. It had a canopy over the back section. They had an egg and poultry business in County Kilkenny so it was used for that. I dug one of the number plates out of the ditch years ago still have it on my garage wall.”
