90 ZT was assembled in Dublin at the end of July 1977 and sent to Chris O’Mahony’s Volkswagen dealership in Cork in early August. It was sold from Chris O’Mahony’s and registered on August 31st with a Cork registration.
When 90 ZT was photographed 15 years later it was still powered by its original 1200cc engine. This Gentian Blue (L51B) 1200N or Base Model Beetle was looking well at the Kilcommon Festival 1992 in County Tipperary. It had recently had a repaint and freshen up with new number plates, rear window vent trim and a Zoom Tube.
