I stayed in Marino, in Dublin for a weekend in May 1993 and was delighted to wake up on the Sunday morning to find this beautiful 1979 Karmann Beetle Cabriolet parked just down the road from where I had parked my 1970 Beetle.
The US spec Beetle looked fantastic in Mars Red (L31B) but it was the Porsche Fuch style wheels that set really made the car stand out from the crowd. Back in 1993, this convertible was only 14 years old at that stage and as the paint looked to be the original it had a really nice, slightly worn look to it which made it the perfect classic; clean, straight, rust free but not so shiny that you would be afraid to use it.
