We have Dave Curran to thank for this entry. Dave spotted this convertible Beetle at the Ardfert show in Kerry recently (August 2023).
The aftermarket convertible Beetle kit was so popular in the 1990s and early 2000s and to a certain extent, they seem to be making something of a comeback again as people look for cheap fun in the sun without having to fork out on genuine Karmann Convertible Beetles which command high prices these days.
We don’t know much about this particular Beetle other than it is a Dublin registered Beetle, a 1300 Deluxe, and at some point one of its owners bought the kit from the UK and went about chopping the roof off and adding a canvas fold back roof.
