1200N Base Model Beetle

Spotted at Cars and Coffee in Bray (October 2022) was this 1977 Galway registered Base Model 1200N Beetle. This would be one of the last assembled and registered Beetles before the Irish production ceased. The 1200N Beetle would not have had any of the ‘bling’ associated with the Deluxe model so the bumpers were painted black and the headliner was a shorter version, covering the centre of the roof only. There was no through-flow ventilation system in the car, hence the blank where in place of the rear crescent vents. It’s nice to see this Beetle still wearing its original number plates.
