Trev photographed this Beetle at the 2016 Ballinakill Club Car Show in the Portlaoise which was held at the Laois Shopping Centre in Portlaoise. This Beetle is known as the Base Model, 1200N or Standard Beetle, depending where you are from, and is exactly as the name suggests, a very basic Beetle. This particular Beetle was imported into Ireland many years ago and was registered in the early 1990s. It’s been well restored and has even been given a few extras that it wouldn’t have left the factory with such as the passenger side mirror, chrome hubcaps and the roofrack, complete with vintage suitcase! It’s not a car we had seen before, or since for that matter so we hope it still survives.
