Irish assembled VWs never really benefitted from such extras as metallic paint so when you see one at a show, just like Jim McCallum did at the Mosney Classic Car Show in 2012, you have to stop and look, or in Jim’s case, take a photo.
This UK spec 1300 Deluxe Beetle looks to be Turquoise Metallic (L95B), a colour that was available in 1972, when this Beetle was built. It looked to be quite original and unmodified so we are assuming it is the original colour on this May ’72 registered Beetle.
