Info
I bought this 1977 Beetle in Birdhill, Co. Tipperary on 1st Feb 1999. After using it to take me up and down to work in Dublin for quite a while, the poor Beetle needed some rust repair so I took the opportunity to repair the rust damage on the bulkhead and to go from Havana Brown to Apple Green (L64M), a 1973 UK GT Beetle shade. Looking back now, I would never change the colour as I appreciate Havana Brown so much more now than I did then but that’s something that comes with time and age I guess. Also, there are so few Havana Brown Beetles left that they are quite the rarity these days! Who would have thought that? One thing I do remember from that car was the passenger side gutter and roof had been pushed in slightly so it looks like this poor old Bug found itself on its side at one point or another.
Sadly I can only find one photo of the Beetle wearing its Apple Green colour, and it’s not even a full photo!
