Steve Gascoigne sent in this Beetle (537 UZC) and also 7820 ZI, both were taken at the same show which was the 2022 Oldcastle Agricultural Show
Steve was visiting his brother in Manchester back in late 2022 so you can imagine his surprise when he saw these photos on the fridge door!
It turns out that when Steve’s brother was home during the summer with his wife Sophie, they went to the Oldcastle Agricultural Show and had their photos taken beside these Beetles. Steve isn’t sure who the lady is in this photo but assumes that she is a friend of Sophie’s.
We’re not too sure of this Beetle’s history but what we do know is that it is a UK import into Ireland and was registered in Dublin back in February 1978. A set of GT wheels were added at some point, it may have even been ordered from the dealer with these optional wheels fitted. The Beetle has been fitted with accessory bumper overriders too as well as raised digit number plates which not only look great but are period correct.
