With Trevor being from Kilkenny he has a habit of sniffing out every Kilkenny registered Volkswagen that comes up for sale. This last off the line Type 2 Bay Window was no exception.
Being a 1979 registered Bay Window, it was one of the last Bay Windows to be built, and certainly, one of the last to be registered here in Ireland as the T25 was just becoming available at that time.
457 DIP is a very late 1979, possibly a very early 1980 Kilkenny registration so this particular Bay Window Single Cab is a rare machine. Having had some obvious running repairs over the years as you would expect, this Reef Blue (L57H) Type 2 was in original unmodified condition. It was perfect to use as-is or ideally as the perfect base for a complete restoration.
