Thanks to Ian for submitting the photo and information on his old Volkswagen to the Beetle.ie Census.
“This is a photo of a Beetle I owned about 9 or 10 years ago 1164ZH. I had new floors and heater channels fitted and decided to get a MK1 Golf instead. The man that bought it had great plans for it but I never kept his number to see how it went. If anyone has any info on it, it would be appreciated. I’m just wondering did it ever get finished.
I don’t remember his name. I think he was from the Waterford/ Wexford area. He said he had Beetles for years and wanted a project. His son had been abroad and was home and opened a spray shop so he was happy out as all the welding was done. I’ve posted on a few VW sites in the last few years but it never turned up.”
Beetle.ie: Fingers crossed Ian that someone will recognise your old Beetle. We have seen quite a few people reconnected with their old VWs through the Beetle.ie Census.
UPDATE 4-12-2021: Beetle.ie – We’ve found Ian’s old Beetle. It’s for sale in County Limerick and we are currently trying to contact Ian to let him know it’s still around and more importantly, it’s for sale! The current photos show the Beetle with new wings fitted but still has the spotlight brackets in place.
