It’s not often you got to see nicely spec’d early Beetles but I spotted this one in the car park of the Leopardstown Inn back in the late 1980’s. It’s a May ’67 registered Java Green Beetle with a 1300cc engine.
The towel rail bumpers, rear stone guards and the unusual number plate design really caught my eye.
Did it survive? We don’t know but someone looked after it back then so hopefully that care carried on to the present day. We live in hope!
